Roger Lanctot and John Ellis, both on the Board of the Connected Car Expo see limitations on access to on-board computers as devastating to ownership, and we entirely agree. From the article:
“If vehicle owners can no longer legally modify or repair their own cars it seems we will have begun a slide down a slippery slope toward an end to ownership altogether. We joke that the banks own our houses, but we may now have to add a note that the bank, dealer and car maker owns our car.”
